A boy saying 'drink more hot water' to his girlfriend will be called 'big pig's trotter'???🤣🤣🤣

In the context of Chinese culture, when a girl feels unwell, a boy saying 'drink more hot water' is often considered a perfunctory response, and thus he may be jokingly called a 'big pig's trotter.' This meme from the perception that the boy lacks practical action or specific help when showing care, merely using a simple phrase like 'drink more hot water' to brush things off. This term has become a way to tease and criticize boys on the internet, reflecting a critique of their lack of attentiveness and consideration.

But, why 'big pig's trotter'???

The origin of the meme 'big pig's trotter' (大猪蹄子) can be traced back to a popular Chinese TV drama called 'Story of Yanxi Palace'. In the drama, Emperor Qianlong's feelings towards Wei Yingluo were capricious, sometimes cold and ruthless, sometimes warm and gentle. This inconsistency made Wei Yingluo feel that he was like a 'big pig's trotter' because pig trotters are large and clumsy, used to describe Qianlong's actions as rough and lacking in finesse.

Later, this meme was widely used by viewers and netizens to describe men who are capricious and lack attentiveness and consideration in relationships. When women feel that men are not caring and considerate enough towards them, they use 'big pig's trotter' to describe them, expressing a mix of teasing and dissatisfaction.

Therefore, 'big pig's trotter' is not just a simple joke but a cultural phenomenon, reflecting women's dissatisfaction and expectations of men's behavior in relationships in modern society.

Even so, I was taught drinking warm water in moderation does have several health benefits and I truly believe:

  1. Aids Digestion: Warm water can help the digestive system work better, promoting the breakdown and absorption of food, and alleviating issues like indigestion and constipation.

  2. Relieves Nasal Congestion and Sore Throat: The steam from warm water can help relieve nasal congestion, and drinking warm water helps soothe a sore and dry throat.

  3. Detoxification: Drinking warm water can promote sweating and urination, helping to expel toxins from the body.

  4. Improves Blood Circulation: Warm water helps to dilate blood vessels, improving blood circulation and enhancing the delivery of oxygen and nutrients throughout the body.

  5. Alleviates Menstrual Pain: For women, drinking warm water can help ease menstrual cramps and discomfort.

  6. Relaxes the Body and Mind: Warm water has a soothing and relaxing effect, helping to relieve tension and stress, promoting relaxation.

I completely agree with the criticism on the internet of boys who use the simple phrase 'drink more hot water' as a way to brush off concerns. However, what saddens me is that 'drink more hot water' has become a taboo phrase. Even when said out of genuine care and advice, it gets ruthlessly labeled, making people hesitant to speak up.

Everyone should remember the recent viral artwork featuring taped bananas, right? Created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, the piece titled 'Comedian' consists of three bananas taped with tape. Recently, two of these bananas were sold at the high price of $120,000 each. However, on December 7, one of the exhibited bananas was unexpectedly eaten!

It turns out that the person who ate the banana was New York performance artist David Datuna. His action instantly attracted many onlookers who captured the moment of him eating the banana. Datuna responded by saying, 'I am a performance artist. I love Maurizio Cattelan's art, and I really love this banana installation and its concept. And, it was very delicious.' He called this performance 'Hungry Artist.' Subsequently, the Perrotin Gallery, which was responsible for exhibiting 'Comedian,' reported the incident to the police.

Since then, many 'Comedian' 'fanatics' have emerged online, saluting the artwork in various ways. And, for sure! I’m one of them! Salute!!!!!🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡
